About 2RE03

A design studio with a long bench and a short attention span for buzzwords.

The short version

2RE03 designs, writes, and builds, mostly for the web, never only for the web.

We've been at this for over thirty years, which is long enough to have strong opinions about kerning and short enough to still enjoy a good napkin sketch. Web design is the main event. But a studio that only makes websites leaves a lot of useful skills on the table.

So we don't. Logos, print, 3D models, documentation, editorial: if a project needs making, we're interested in the problem it's trying to solve.

What that experience looks like

Three decades spanning logo design, graphic design, web design and development, photography, 3D modeling, book publishing, editing, technical writing, and advertising, for clients across a wide range of industries.

Real-world mileage

Work from this studio has been art-directed for a print magazine, taught in a university graphic design program, and shipped as technical documentation for Silicon Valley technology companies.

Seen in the wild

Our work has appeared in magazines and across the web, from small client projects to our own, designed end to end in-house. Including the site you're reading now.

Own the execution

Concept and execution live in the same room, so nothing gets lost in translation between the idea and the build.

How we work

Figure out the actual problem. Make something that solves it. Then make it look like it was always supposed to look that way.

We plan for materials and constraints before we get precious about a layout. If a project needs words, we write them. If it needs a model, we build it. If it needs a website, we hand-code it and make sure it holds up on whatever screen shows up next.

What we won't do

  • Hand you a mood board and a shrug.
  • Call it "storytelling" and charge extra for it.
  • Pretend a logo is a brand strategy.
  • Use the word "leverage" as a verb. (Much.)
